New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study will feature Deaf hip-hop artist SignMark and Deaf comedian CJ Jones in “Signs & Rhymes,” a concert to be held on Monday, April 16, 5 p.m. at the Jerry Labowitz Theater (1 Washington Place [at Broadway]).

SignMark, who’s from Finland, is the first Deaf artist to sign a record deal with a major label and released the world's first sign language hip-hop DVD in 2006. His performances are bilingual, featuring American Sign Language and English.

CJ Jones, a Deaf entertainer and comedian, will serve as the event’s MC. He has appeared on NBC’s “Frasier,” PBS’ “Sesame Street,” and Broadway’s “Children of a Lesser God.”

The event is organized by the Gallatin Student Council.
