An exhibition featuring works in photography, digital imaging, and multimedia by 12 graduating seniors from New York University’s class of 2012 in the Department of Photography & Imaging at the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television will open February 23. It will remain on view at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts through March 17, 2012.

Entitled, SHOW TWO, the show is the second in a series of four exhibitions, the forth of which will showcase the work of the entire graduating class in a BFA exhibition. It is installed in the Gulf + Western Gallery (1st floor rear lobby) and the 8th Floor Gallery, located at 721 Broadway (at Waverly Place). Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.  A photo ID is required when entering the building.  For more information, visit www.photo.tisch.nyu.edu or call 212.998.1930.

In the show Andrea Bejarano presents a fragmented yet intimate vision of home and belonging; Clara Braddick reflects on the concepts of memory, observance, and interaction; William Carrà gives viewers a glimpse into his mind; Isabel Castro presents a series of photographs about transgendered immigrants seeking political asylum; Dana Fields explores the possibilities of portraiture; Joshua Haunschild captures the Red Desert through large-format panoramas; Ariel LeBeau documents the independent punk and hardcore music scene in Brooklyn; Isaac Lee presents a series of self-portraits that explore the complexities of Asian-American identity; Kathryn McLane examines the revelations which time can uncover through long-exposure portraits of her family members; Elizabeth Shrier explores the changing definition of a landscape; Kristina Walters follows the lives of two urban dogs, Charlie and Cooper; and Katie Weinholt explores what males and females have to say about losing their virginity.

The Department of Photography & Imaging is an intensive four-year BFA program centered on the making and understanding of images. It is a diverse department embracing multiple perspectives. The students work in virtually all modes of analog, digital, and multimedia photo-based image making, exploring photo-based imagery as personal and cultural expression.  For further information, visit www.photo.tisch.nyu.edu.
