NYU Meal Plan Members “Best-Dressed Fan” Contest Wins Clambake

In support of their local NFL teams pending battle in the Super Bowl on February 5th, New York University and The University of Massachusetts Amherst have entered into a friendly food wager.

If the NY Giants are victorious, UMass Dining Services will send a New England Clam Bake for six NYU students which will include chowder, lobsters, baked beans and cranberry treats. The food will be prepared by Willie Sng, executive chef at UMass Dining Services.

If the New England Patriots win, NYU Dining will provide dinner for six that includes Waldorf salad, dry-aged New York Strip steaks, creamed spinach, Empire State potatoes, pastrami and New York-style cheese cake prepared by Executive Chef Peter Bove of Top of the Square Catering.

Owen Moore, AVP of Operations and Business Development for NYU Campus Services entered into the wager with Ken Tong, Executive Director of Auxiliary Enterprise at UMass who oversees UMass Dining Services.

“I’m sure NYU students will enjoy celebrating the Super Bowl championship over a delicious New England Clam Bake,” Moore said.

NYU Dining is asking Meal Plan members to post pictures of themselves decked out in their NY Giants gear to the NYU Dining Facebook Fan page on Sunday. The best display of team spirit will be awarded the Clam Bake.  Students can “Like” their favorite posts to help determine the winner.
