Author Ann Lee will discuss her new book "What the U.S. Can Learn From China: An Open-Minded Guide to Treating Our Greatest Competitor as Our Greatest Teacher" with Economist magazine’s U.S. business editor and New York bureau chief Matthew Bishop on Monday, Feb. 13, at New York University.

The book launch event begins at 6:00 p.m. at NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, located in the Puck Building, 295 Lafayette Street (at the corner of Houston St.), New York, N.Y.

RSVP is required: go to http://wagner.nyu.edu/events/policy-02-13-2012.

The event is co-sponsored by NYU Wagner and Demos, where Lee is a senior fellow.

As Lee notes, the International Monetary Fund predicts China will overtake the U.S. in 2016. President Obama has called China’s rise “a Sputnik moment.” Will America seize this moment, or treat China as its scapegoat? Chinese-American scholar Lee is a former investment banker with experiences on both sides of the Pacific.

Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Reporters wishing to cover the event should contact NYU public affairs officer Robert Polner at 212.998.2337 or robert.polner@nyu.edu.
