New York University’s Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies will host “Jews and Booze: Becoming American in the Age of Prohibition,” a lecture by Marni Davis, a Georgia State University historian, on Wed., Feb. 29 at 3 p.m. at NYU’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center. Davis is the author of the recently released Jews and Booze: Becoming American in the Age of Prohibition (NYU Press).

Davis, an assistant professor of history at Georgia State University, is the author of the recently released Jews and Booze: Becoming American in the Age of Prohibition (NYU Press), which explores American Jews’ relation to alcohol production and their attitudes toward alcohol consumption during the years of the national prohibition movement’s rise and fall.
