The Silver School of Social Work at New York University will host a conference on Wednesday and Thursday, December 14 and 15 – presenting the most current information on substance use prevention, treatment and recovery policy, research, and services within the context of health care reform and today's mental health and addictions treatment landscape.

Convening at The Kimmel Center for University Life (60 Washington Square South, New York, N.Y.), the conference will clarify and demonstrate the most recent and promising evidence-based practice treatment approaches. Discussions will include overview and analysis of the impact of federal, state, and local policy on treatment protocol.

Interactive roundtables and workshops will engage participants in active learning and dialogue related to substance use, HIV/AIDS, prescription misuse/addiction, workforce planning, veterans' behavioral health, co-occurring conditions, and other issues related to treatment and recovery.
