Peter Cunningham, assistant secretary for communications and outreach of the U.S. Department of Education, will speak on a panel at “Occupation to Policy: A Discussion on the Political, Governmental and Economic Implications of Occupy Wall Street,” November 3, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., at New York University’s Robert F. Cunningham, a political appointee, will discuss how the U.S. government is addressing the demands of students, but will also speak more broadly as to how the federal government is responding and reacting to the Occupy Wall Street movement. Other panelists include Professor George Shulman of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, whose interests include political thought and the role of narrative in politics, Professor Peter Rajsingh of NYU Stern School of Business, who specializes in finance and social theory, corporate governance, and business ethics, and has held prominent positions in both the private and public sectors. The event will be moderated by business reporter Lila Shapiro of the Huffington Post.
