Music Biz Veterans Jampol and Beer to Teach the Acclaimed Program Beginning January 2012

Are you ready to get schooled in the ever-shifting music industry’s latest trends, not to mention the chance to network with some of the biggest movers and shakers in the business? Then Music Business NOW, the acclaimed series of classes encompassing the evolving business of marketing, developing, distributing, and managing recorded music and entertainment brands, is for you.

Lead instructors Jeffrey Jampol and Lenny Beer, both well-respected industry veterans, will once again teach the intensive, in-depth classes, which are open to music and other entertainment professionals, attorneys, label and publishing executives, managers, artists and members of the public. This season’s session gets underway on January 25, 2012. The program’s co presenters are the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and The Recording Academy®, with all classes to be hosted by CAA.  Enrollment is being handled through the Clive Davis Institute.  The deadline for registration is January 18, 2011.  To register, click here.

Jeff Rabhan, chair for the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, said, “The goal of the program has always been to blur the line between the academic world and the professional world; this no-holds-barred curriculum is a real-time look at the music industry taught by seasoned professionals whose knowledge come from experience.”

In addition to the 14-week master class, Music Business NOW will include three ancillary classes to be rolled out later in the year that will focus on digital marketing and distribution, social media and digital strategy, and artist and brand development of entertainment properties, with more to be added.

This is the place where both professionals and hopefuls will have the rare opportunity to both learn from and network with a who’s who of the most powerful and savvy executives in the industry, in addition to participate in hands-on projects that provide real world learning opportunities.

Jampol is the president of JAM Inc., a GRAMMY®-winning film producer, manager of The Doors as well as the Estates of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Peter Tosh and Rick James, and a consultant to the Estate of Michael Jackson.

Beer is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of HITS magazine, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, as well as president of The MGMT Co., a management firm whose clients include Thirty Seconds to Mars, Bush, The Airborne Toxic Event and Andrew W.K., among others.
