NYU students, faculty, alumni and staff who attend the APHA Annual Meeting are invited to attend a special public health reception sponsored by NYU Executive Vice President for Health Robert Berne.
A broad array of research on public health issues will be presented by New York University- affiliated researchers at the 139th American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting and Exposition. More than 70 NYU faculty, students and affiliated researchers will offer 36 papers and presentations on a range of public health topics.
The APHA event runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 in Washington, D.C.
The student and faculty presenters come from many NYU schools, colleges, and programs, and will deliver findings on such diverse issues as “Glaucoma in a New York City jail population,” “Breast cancer risk factor knowledge among Korean-American women in New York City,” “Developing a conceptual framework of the community health worker role with hypertension-related behavior change,” and “Development of obesity policies in New York City and state.”

The reception will last from 6:30-to-8:00 p.m. in Independence Ballroom F of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, one of the venues where the annual meeting will be conducted.
