Indyk, author of Innocent Abroad: An Intimate Account of American Peace Diplomacy in the Middle East and co-author of Restoring the Balance: A Middle East Strategy for the Next President, is vice president and director of the Foreign Policy Program at the Brookings Institution. He also served senior director of Near East and South Asian Affairs at the National Security Council (NSC) and assistant secretary of state for Near East Affairs during the Clinton Administration.
