“One Year at Ground Zero: From Recovery to Rebuilding,” a series of photographs taken at the World Trade Center site by Sam Hollenshead, will be on display, for 24-hour public viewing, from September 1 through November 1 at NYU’s Windows at Kimmel Center (the corner of LaGuardia Place and West 3rd Street). The exhibition, which includes 30 images taken in 2001 and 2002, is curated by Pam Jean Tinnen.

Hollenshead grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to New York City in 2001 after receiving a degree in anthropology from the University of Michigan. His photographs of workers at the World Trade Center site were first published in the New York Times Magazine and later exhibited at numerous museums and public institutions, including the Museum of the City of New York, the New York Public Library, and the New York Transit Museum. 

In 2006 and 2007, Hollenshead lived in Mumbai, India, where he worked as a photojournalist with Polaris Images, a photo agency that distributed his images to publications that include the New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, and Time magazine, among others. Since 2008, he has been based in New York City and takes pictures for a variety of corporate, editorial, and commercial clients.
