New York University (NYU) and the Paris School of Economics (PSE) have announced a global partnership that will create a faculty exchange program between the two institutions. In addition to facilitating faculty and research collaboration between the schools, the partnership will bring members of the PSE faculty to teach courses in NYU's global network, beginning at NYU Abu Dhabi this fall.

The exchange program will allow for sponsored research visits, ranging in length from two weeks to two months, enabling faculty to move between NYU's New York campus and PSE, and providing them with the opportunity to collaborate on topics of shared interest. In Abu Dhabi, PSE faculty will teach both individually and jointly with NYU faculty.

"We are very excited to bring together two of the world's leading economics faculties, and we are hopeful that this partnership will not only lead to outstanding collaborative research, but also provide undergraduates at NYU Abu Dhabi with the opportunity to learn from some of the field's leading minds" said NYU Provost David McLaughlin.

PSE Director François Bourguignon said: "NYU and PSE share a common vision for developing an integrated worldwide network of research and teaching in Economics. We are really proud to work hand-in-hand with NYU to push the knowledge frontier and to give a cutting-edge economics training to the next generation of global leaders".

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at NYU New York on Friday, June 17, 2011. NYU Provost David McLaughlin and NYU Abu Dhabi Senior Vice Provost Ron Robin, were joined by François, the director of the PSE, and Pierre-Andre Chiappori, president of the PSE's Scientific Council.
