What's The Future of Alternative Fuel Vehicles in NYC and Beyond?

In a time of climate change and growing concerns about urban asthma rates, cutting one of the fast-growing sources of air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions is increasingly viewed as paramount in the transportation sector.

On Tuesday, June 14, federal, state and city agency leaders, industry and labor officials, advocates and researchers will gather for a conference from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on what it takes to support alternative fuel vehicles broadly in the New York metro area and nationally.

The event – free and open to the public – will be held at NYU Kimmel Center (Eisner & Lubin Auditorium) 60 Washington Square South near the corner of LaGuardia Place, and is dubbed “Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Infrastructure Requirements - Bringing Innovation To Our Streets.”

Craig Ivey, president of Con Edison of New York, will deliver the keynote address. He and many additional speakers will explore the market conditions as well as infrastructure investments, policies and strategies required to support green technologies.

The conference is sponsored by Rudin Center for Transportation Policy & Management at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, along with NYS Energy Research & Development Authority, NYS Department of Transportation, and Con Edison.
