Carol Bove and Trisha Donnelly, NYU Steinhardt faculty from the Art and Art Professions Department who are both clinical associate professors of studio art, are among the 82 artists from around the world to be featured in the 54th Venice Biennale.

La Biennale di Venezia is one of the world’s most important forums for the dissemination and illumination of current developments in international art,” said Bice Curiger, director of the Biennale.  “The title of the 54th International Art Exhibition, ILLUMInations, literally draws attention to the importance of such endeavours in a globalized world. As the biggest and oldest Biennale, it has always been buoyed by an international spirit, and even more so now in an age in which artists themselves have become multifaceted, discerning migrants, and cultural tourists”.

Bove is an artist and collector whose work involves mining memory as artistic material.  Donnelly is an artist who implements multiple mediums in her practice moving regularly between the performative and text, the action and the plane.  La Biennale di Venezia will be on view from June 4 – November 27, 2011.  For more detailed information, visit
