The Symposium, which will occur on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Pierre Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, offers a unique forum for sophisticated, high-level discussions and has for sixteen years become a must-attend event for hundreds of senior REIT executives and newsmakers.

Headlined by industry legends Steven Roth, William L. Mack, and Samuel Zell, the best and the brightest REIT minds will be in attendance in early April. Not only will many of the largest REITs be represented, but so will top executives from well-known companies ranging from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to Lazard Freres and Deutsche Bank.

This year’s keynote address will be given by Debra A. Cafaro, chairman and CEO of Ventas, Inc., a leading healthcare real estate investment trust. Cafaro was responsible for negotiating two acquisitions recently totaling $10.5 billion for Ventas, Inc., including Nationwide Health Properties for $7.4 billion in stock.

‘A New REIT Era?’ is the overall theme for this year’s REIT Symposium. While the event is geared towards the publicly-traded side of the real estate industry, a host of private equity firms also will be in attendance to offer their candid views of the marketplace. One of the morning sessions - - entitled REITs vs. PRIVATE EQUITY - - Advantages and Disadvantages in Winning Deals and Deploying Capital - - will undoubtedly offer opposing and engaging viewpoints from both sides of the industry.

“Our annual REIT Symposium has for sixteen years been a highlight of the spring conference circuit,” said James P. Stuckey, divisional dean of the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. “This year’s event will be even more exciting given that the REIT market has been so incredibly resurgent in terms of both deal making and fundraising. If you want to take the pulse of this market, there’s no better place to be than at our conference on April 7th.”

Registration for the conference is now open. To view the complete conference agenda and to register, please visit www.scps.nyu.edu/reit. If you have any questions regarding this symposium, please contact Jessica Estrada-Watson at 212-992-3618 or Jessica.watson@nyu.edu.
