Rudin Center “Livability Summit” Presents Matthew Khan, author of “Climatopolis’ - Feb. 3

Matthew E. Kahn, a professor at UCLA and the author of Climatopolis: How Our Cities Will Thrive in the Hotter Future, will discuss his vision of how cities and their residents will adapt to a hotter world, both in the U.S. and internationally, and how this is relevant to efforts to promote more livable communities.

Kahn is one of the world’s foremost experts on economics of the environment. His keynote speech is planned as part of the “Livability Summit” that will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011, from 8:30 a.m.-to-1:00 p.m. at New York University’s Kimmel Center (Rosenthal Pavilion), 60 Washington Square South, New York. N.Y.

The summit is hosted by the Rudin Center for Transportation Management & Policy at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at NYU and cosponsored by the Federal Highway Administration. A panel discussion will follow Kahn’s talk, featuring David Bragdon, New York City's Director of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability.
