'Greening Gotham,' with NYC Buildings Commissioner - Jan. 25

NYU Wagner will host a lecture and lively discussion on New York City’s greening initiatives with the commissioner of the city Department of Buildings, Robert D. LiMandri. The event will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 5:30-to-7:00 p.m.  The Wagner school is located in The Puck Building, 2nd Floor, 295 Lafayette Street (@ Houston), 2nd Floor, New York, N.Y. This event is free and open to the public.

Commissioner LiMandri will speak about: how the city government is encouraging developers and property owners to reduce energy consumption in major buildings; greening initiatives in other world cities; and the city’s inaugural energy code.

New York City’s buildings are responsible for approximately 80% of the city’s carbon emissions, reflecting the critical importance of energy efficiency to the city’s future.

LiMandri will field questions after his lecture; a light reception will follow. For more information, journalists can contact the NYU public information officer listed with this release. RSVP is required for all attendees, including press.
