A shutdown of the domestic hot water and heat in the Kimmel Center is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2009 starting at 11PM through Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 11AM. Read more »

Greene Street
November 16, 2009

Verizon will be opening up Greene Street north of West 4th Street in order to clear a conduit obstruction. They are scheduled to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday of this week. Weekend work is scheduled to consist of replacing cobblestones.

This is not an NYU-related project.

383 Lafayette
November 13, 2009

Starting on or about November 16, 2009, exterior façade probes in approximately 10 locations will be conducted at 383 Lafayette. Two scissor lifts will be located on site - one on Lafayette and one on 4th Street - for the project.

40 West 4th Street
November 12, 2009

Power washing of the façade of 40 West 4th Street (Tisch Hall) to remove tape and paint residue from around the limestone canopy is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009. Tenants will be directed to use the east side entrance or west side entrance of 40 West 4th Street (Tisch Hall) during this work.

44 West 4th Street
November 12, 2009

The main entrance of 44 West 4th Street-Kaufman Management Center (KMC) will be temporarily closed on Friday, November 13, 2009 and Saturday, November 14, 2009 to refinish the stone of the lobby floor.

Tenants will be directed to use the stairs and elevators to the upper concourse level of 40 West 4th Street (Tisch Hall) to gain access to the elevators into 44 West 4th Street (KMC).

10 Washington Place
November 6, 2009

Beginning Wednesday, November 11, 2009 a boom truck will remove and replace the water tank on the roof of 10 Washington Place. Pieces of the old water tank will be removed and a new tank will be delivered via the same truck. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 13, 2009.

The street will remain open to traffic during this time.

14 Washington Mews
November 3, 2009

An articulating boom lift will be staged in front of 14 Washington Mews on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6, 2009 to deliver materials to the roof and access the roof. A temporary structure will be built to model items proposed with renovation work.

October 28, 2009

On November 4th, 2009 probes will be conducted at grade level on the courtyard side and/or on the south side of the 9th floor to investigate the existing lintel and roof conditions. Roof membrane and sub-layers of roofing from all roofs will also be removed.

OTHER PROJECTS

Maintaining Our Facilities - Local Law 11

Local Law 11 work is mandated by the City of New York and requires all buildings six floors or higher to be inspected and repaired on a regularly scheduled basis.

715 - 719 Broadway

715 - 719 Broadway is currently part of a Local Law 11 project that will run in two phases:

  • The first phase was a mobilization phase, including the installation of sidewalk bridging and scaffolding.
  • The second phase will repair the exterior façade of the building.

Work began in August 2009 and scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2009.
