On behalf of New York University, Parent Resources at the Student Resource Center is pleased to invite the parents of new freshmen and transfer students, as well as our parents of students transitioning from abroad sites, to Parents Day. The day begins with a morning academic program hosted by the Undergraduate School or Program in which your student attends. We ask that only parents attend the morning program due to space constraints.
The afternoon begins with lunch on your own, at one of our dining halls, or off campus (ask your student for suggestions!). Additionally, a number of workshops will be offered in the afternoon and include such topics as the sophomore residential experience, health and wellness, study abroad, commuter life, the freshman year experience, library services, and off campus housing. All workshops are open to students and parents, however, space is limited.
The day will conclude with a reception and the evening is on your own.
We understand that your visit is also great opportunity to spend time with your son or daughter and explore the city. If you prefer, we also invite you to make the day your own, participating in what your schedule will allow.
Staff will be available in the lobby of the Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, on Parents Day, from 9am to 5pm to provide directions and information. Note that Check-in will begin at your son or daughter's morning academic program, not at the Kimmel Center.
