The NYU Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) coordinates employment and service programs that let students develop rich relationships with local organizations, including non-profits, public schools, city government agencies, and civic groups. Our service programs help students enrich the lives of their fellow New Yorkers -- enriching their lives as students as well.
The Office of Civic Engagement is home to NYU America Reads/America Counts, the nation's largest tutoring program, in which approximately 800 undergraduate and graduate students work as tutors in 80 NYC public schools annually. Learn more »
The Office of Civic Engagement also operates NYU Jumpstart, an AmeriCorps program in which seventy NYU students work in small teams to help ensure academic success among pre-K children at local early education nonprofit organizations. Learn more »

CSALS provides comprehensive programs, activities, and services that enhance the student experience, support student organizations, encourage effective citizenship, develop student leaders, and create community.
