Daniel Kopper, NYU Alum, Advocates for NYU 2031

Statement of Daniel Kopper

Alumnus, Stern School of Business

New York University

For the New York University Core Project

I am both a resident of Greenwich Village and an alum of New York University. In both capacities I fully support the proposed projects entitled "NYU 2031."

While I understand some residents are opposed to these buildings, I view the project as a positive step for both the university and the neighborhood. The university has put much thought into this plan to ensure that it balances the needs of the community with that of the school. This expansion will provide much needed space, which in turn will further help NYU become a leader in academic thought and incubator for future generations.

NYU has been a resident of Greenwich Village longer than you and I and it will continue to live longer than our natural lives.  As a hub of world class education and research, it is important to note that NYU's impact is not simply to the local community but also to the world. In opposing this project you not only handicap the school in its ability to serve its students now, but also in its ability to help create a better future.

Warm regards,

Daniel W. Kopper
