Project Timeline

  • The project is scheduled from August to November, 2013.
  • The project will consist of four phases:
    • Construction of sidewalk sheds at Furman Hall and Vanderbilt Hall, to reduce sound and dust.
    • Demolition of the existing sidewalk.
    • Waterproofing of the structural materials below grade
    • Pouring of new surface concrete

Scope of Work

  • Sidewalk repairs will take place in three locations: behind Vanderbilt Hall (on West 3rd Street near Sullivan Street), in front of Furman Hall (245 Sullivan Street), and across the street from Furman Hall.
  • Demolition of the sidewalk will require the use of a jackhammer and take approximately one week to complete. As with any type of construction activity, noise may be audible to neighboring buildings.
