A below-ground steam pipe leak has created an emergency situation, requiring NYU to install a temporary outdoor boiler nearby to this location while repairs are underway. We expect no more than two weeks during which residents will be affected, and apologize for the temporary inconvenience this may cause.
Information for Neighbors
- The project is expected to be ongoing until the end of August, 2013.
Scope of Work
- Sidewalk repairs in front of Vanderbilt Hall will involve intermittent jackhammering.
- Where work is ongoing, barriers will be erected to ensure pedestrian safety.
- Temporary external boilers must installed to provide utility services to affected buildings. The boilers will be located outside on Washington Place between Washington Square West and 6th Avenue, and on the corner of MacDougal Street and West 3rd Street.
