Recently Completed Projects

Repairs and Upgrades

  • 35 Fifth Avenue, Rubin Hall 1st Floor Renovation and Roof Replacements
    NYU renovated new classroom spaces on the 1st floor, replaced the roof, and installed new rooftop mechanical equipment. This project began in April 2015 and ended in August 2015.
  • 140 East 14th Street, Palladium Hall
    NYU renovated the basement of Palladium Hall to create a new Varsity Athletic Suite. The project began in May 2015 and ended in August 2015.
  • 80 Washington Square East, Goddard Hall Roof Replacement
    NYU replaced the main and secondary bulkhead roofs of Goddard Hall. The project began in November 2014 and ended in June 2015.
  • 20 Cooper Square, Internal Renovation and Facade Work
    New York University renovated the 1st and 2nd floors of 20 Cooper Square. This project included internal renovation, Local Law 11 facade work, window and shutter renewal, and the installation of a rooftop cooling tower. The project began in mid-September 2013 and ended in summer 2015.
  • 3-5 Washington Place Roof Repairs
    NYU replaced the roof of 3-5 Washington Place. The project began in November 2014 and ended in August 2015.

Repairs and Upgrades

  • 16 Washington Place, Leslie eLab Academic Space Conversion
    New York University renovated the former retail space and surrounding sidewalk at 12-16 Washington Place to create a new entrepreneur's laboratory on the building’s first floor and basement level. The project began in February and continued through December 2014.
  • 14 Washington Place, Courtyard Repairs
    Water infiltrated the basement of 14 Washington Place through leaks in the surface of the courtyard, necessitating repairs. The project began in August 2014 and continued through January 2015.
  • 433 1st Avenue, Basic Science Building
    As part of NYU's consolidation of medical programs along the 1st Avenue Health Corridor, the University redeveloped its property at 433 1st Avenue. Formerly home to the NYU's Basic Science complex, the revamped site is now a single, 170,000 square foot facility for the NYU College of Nursing, expanding facilities for the NYU College of Dentistry, and creating a space for the University's emerging bioengineering program. The project began in January 2012 and was completed in January 2015.
  • 24 Waverly Place and 100 Washington Square East
    New York University renovated interior spaces at 24 Waverly Place and 100 Washington Square East to create a new contiguous area for the Department of Chemistry’s Computational Theory group. This project began in December 2013 and ended in January 2015.
  • 44 W 4th Street, Kaufman Management Center Terrace Roof Replacement
    NYU made repairs required for the terrace roof at the Kaufman Management Center. The project began in July 2014 and ended by January 2015.
  • 5 University Place, Weinstein Hall Rooftop Bulkhead Repair
    NYU repaired rooftop bulkheads on the east and west sides of Weinstein Hall. The project began in September 2014 and ended in January 2015.

Local Law 11 Facade Repairs

  • 33 3rd Avenue, Third North Dormitory Local Law 11 Facade Repairs
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 33 Third Avenue, Alumni Hall. The project began in June 2014 and ended in February 2015.
  • 50 West 4th Street, Gould Center Local Law 11 Facade Repairs
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 50 W 4th Street. The project began in June 2014 and ended in December 2014.
  • 55 East 10th Street, Brittany Hall Dormitory Local Law 11 Facade Repairs
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 55 East 10th Street. The project began in June 2014 and ended in December 2014.

Repairs and Upgrades

  • Sullivan Street Sidewalk Rehabilitation
    NYU rehabilitated sections of the sidewalk surrounding Vanderbilt Hall and Furman Hall (245 Sullivan Street and 40 Washington Square South). The project started in June 2014 and continued through September 2014.
  • Washington Square Village Water Tank Replacement
    New rooftop water tanks were required at Washington Square Village buildings 1, 2, 3, and 4. The project began in April 2014 and was completed by October 2014.

Local Law 11 Facade Repairs

  • 110 West 3rd Street, D'Agostino Hall
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 110 W 3rd Street, D'Agostino Hall. The project began in June 2014 and ended in early September 2014.
  • 246 Greene Street
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 246 Greene Street. The project began in June 2014 and ended in September 2014.

Repairs and Upgrades

  • 715-719 Broadway Roof Repairs
    New York University replaced the roof of 715-719 Broadway. This project began in November 2013 and ended in January 2014.
  • Broadway Block Sidewalk Repairs
    NYU repaired sections of the sidewalk on the north side of Washington Place and the south side of Waverly Place between Broadway and Mercer Street. This work was one segment of a multi-year project that target the perimeter of the academic block bound by Mercer Street, Washington Place, Broadway, and Waverly Place, called the "Broadway Block." The project started in June 2014 and continued through August 2014.
  • Facade Repairs, 19 University Place
    NYU undertook facade repairs at 19 University Place. The project began in June 2013, and ended in June, 2014.
  • Deutsches Haus Maintenance, 42 Washington Place
    NYU repaired and upgraded parts of its Deutsches Haus building. The project began in July 2014 and ended in September 2014.

Local Law 11 Facade Repairs

  • Pless Hall, 32 Washington Place
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of Pless Hall. The project began in June 2013 and ended in July 2014.
  • Carlyle Court Dormitory, 25 Union Square West
    NYU will be undertaking standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 110 W 3rd Street. The project began in June 2014 and ended in September 2014.
  • Economics Department, 269 Mercer Street
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 269 Mercer Street. The project began in September 2013 and ended by September 2014.
  • Kimball Hall, 246 Greene Street
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs for the facade of 246 Greene Street. The project began in June 2014 and ended in September 2014.
  • Residential Properties, 18 Waverly Place
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the front and rear facades of 18 Waverly Place. The project began in June 2014 and ended in September 2014.
  • Weinstein Hall, 5 University Place
    NYU undertook standard Local Law 11 repairs to the facade of 5 University Place. The project began in June 2014 and ended in September 2014.

  • Education Complex Renovation, W 4th St and Washington Square East
    NYU completed a renovation to the Education Block, at Washington Square East and West 4th Street, which has improved facilities for the NYU Steinhardt School. The project will began in January 2013 and ended in March 2014.
  • Washington Mews Facade Restorations, University between 8th and Waverly
    Following NYU's renovation of the historic Mews streetscape, the University proceeded to restore many of the street's building facades. The project began in February 2013 and ended in April 2014.
  • Sidewalk Restoration, LaGuardia Place
    NYU repaired cracks and uneven sidewalks and asphalt in front of the LaGuardia Place retail spaces and on select areas of the sidewalk and curb closest to the street. The project began in March 2014 and ended in April 2014.
  • Local Law 11 Facade Repairs, 239 Greene Street
    Local Law 11 repairs were required for the facade of 239 Greene Street. Construction began in November 2013 and ended by March 2013.
  • Public Safety and Card Services Centers, 7 Washington Place
    NYU completed a ground floor renovation of 7 Washington Place, which created a new home for the Card Services Center and a new command center for the Department of Public Safety. The project began in November 2013 and ended in March 2014.  

  • Local Law 11 Facade Repairs, 726 Broadway
    Local Law 11 repairs were required for the facade of 726 Broadway. The project began in June 2013 and ended in December 2013. 

  • Dental School Sidewalk Repair, 421 1st Avenue
    Repairs were necessary for various curbs and sidewalks surrounding the New York University School of Dentistry. The project began in July 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Sidewalk and Vault Repair, 3-5 Washington Place
    This project targeted vaults and sidewalks on the southern half of Mercer Street and the western half of Washington Place. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Sidewalk and Vault Repair, 245 Sullivan Street and 40 Washington Square South
    NYU undertook repairs to the vaults and sidewalks at Furman Hall and assessed a future project at Vanderbilt Hall. The project began in August 2013 and ended in October 2013.
  • Local Law 11 Facade Repairs, 28 Waverly Place
    Local Law 11 repairs were required for the facade of the Waverly Building. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Local Law 11 Facade Repairs, 247-251 Mercer Street
    Local Law 11 repairs were required for the facade of Warren Weaver Hall. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Sidewalk and Vault Repair, 33 Washington Square West
    Selected concrete flags and steel curbing along Washington Place and Washington Square West required removal and replacement. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Bobst Library Window Repairs, 70 Washington Square South
    Critical window repairs were undertaken to prevent air and water leaks in Bobst Library. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Barney Building Renovation, 34 Stuyvesant Street
    The Department of Art and Art Professions building underwent renovations during the summer months, including upgrades to the Einstein Auditorium. The project began in June 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Abu Dhabi House Renovation, 19 Washington Square North
    NYU conducted facade repairs along the north and west sides of 19 Washington Square North, Abu Dhabi House. The project began in May 2013 and ended in September 2013.
  • Brittany Hall, East 10th Street
    NYU conducted a full upgrade of Brittany Hall, including dormitory spaces, building offices, common areas, and life safety systems. The renovated Brittany Hall continues to house many of the University's upperclassman, now in more energy-efficient, modern spaces. The project began in December 2012 and ended in September 2013.  

  • Emergency Repairs at Vanderbilt Hall, 40 Washington Square South
    In response to a steam pipe leak, NYU conducted emergency sidewalk work and installed temporary boilers outdoors at nearby locations. The project began and ended in August 2013.

  • Window Replacements, 14 Washington Place
    To improve quality of life in response to residents' requests, NYU replaced older windows at 14 Washington Place with modern, energy efficient windows that still matched the style of the older installations. The project began in December 2012 and ended in March 2013.
  • East Building Roofing, 239 Greene Street
    A maintenance project was needed to replace the roof of 239 Greene Street, NYU's East Building. The project began in November 2013 and ended in March 2013. 

  • English Department Renovation, 244 Greene Street
    A renovation of 244 Greene Street created a new home for the NYU English Department. The project began in November 2012 and ended in February 2013.
