Meyer Building

Overview

NYU is renovating the 1st, 4th, and 7th floor of the Meyer Building, and installing new rooftop equipment. This project includes internal demolition, abatement, renovation work, and window work. The project began in December, 2013, and is scheduled to continue through the spring of 2017. Demolition, abatement, and debris removal will continue through spring 2015. Construction and renovation work will continue for the duration of the project.

Work Hours

  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • In instances where additional night or weekend work is required, community members will be given advanced notice.

Current Project Update

September 22, 2017

Contractors are scheduled to continue to perform interior work.

At the direction of DOT, a crane is scheduled to be onsite in early October to remove equipment from the 8th Floor of the building. Neighbors will be given more details and advance notice of this work before it begins.

Scope of Work

  • The project includes renovations on the 1st, 4th, and 7th floor of the Meyer Building, and the installation of rooftop equipment. Renovations will include internal demolition, abatement, and renovation work. Broadway-facing windows will be renovated on the 4th and 7th floors.
  • The majority of the work will be interior.
  • Dumpster truck(s) will be located on Mercer Street for debris removal.
  • Periodic deliveries will continue through summer 2015.
  • There will be periodic internal asbestos abatement, which will require the use of an asbestos abatement truck on Washington Place between Broadway and Mercer.
