Community Fund

The NYU Community Fund is a workplace charitable giving program that awards grants to local nonprofit organizations. These groups are dedicated to purposes that improve the health and well-being of the neighborhood surrounding NYU and the people who live in it. Their work and community outreach programs effect visible changes we can all be proud of.

Make A Pledge. Make A Difference.

In 1982 NYU faculty and staff founded the NYU Community Fund as a way to assist the organizations serving our community. Since then, the Fund has raised and distributed $2,500,000 to hundreds of nonprofit organizations. All monies to the Fund are donated voluntarily from employee paychecks and 100% of every employee-contributed dollar goes towards funding a community organization. Ready to be a part of this rewarding program? Make A Pledge today.

Community Fund Projects Include:

  • At-risk youth
  • Feeding the hungry
  • Literacy programs
  • Low-income health services
  • Supportive services for the elderly, the visually impaired and people living with health problems
  • Tenants rights education
