NYU…a tradition of Service. The commitment to community service is one of the cornerstones of New York University. Over 5,000 students, staff and faculty are involved in University-sponsored community service each year.
NYU volunteers serve the NYU community in a variety of ways: tutoring, visits to senior citizen, painting public schools, conducting clothing and food drives, are just a few of the hundred of programs available through the Office of Community Service.

250 students volunteer 2 hours weekly for a semester-long commitment at one of our 14 partner agencies of the President’s C-Team. These volunteers provided over 12,000 hours of service to non-profit agencies last year.
Each year NYU collects and distributes 10 tons of clothing to 35 non-profit organizations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx through the NYU Clothes Line.
Since its inception in 1998, Campus Harvest, has donated over 10 tons of food to agencies serving homeless and hungry New Yorkers.
Community Service Projects places over 2,000 volunteers each year in one-day service projects throughout New York City.
