One-Day Service Projects

The Office of Community Service organizes a series of weekly service projects throughout the year. This program is designed to give students an opportunity to participate in a variety of one day volunteer projects such as soup kitchens, beach cleanups, housing construction and many others.

Community Service Project Grants

Community Service Project Grants Community Service Project Grants offer funding for NYU students, staff and faculty on a semiannual basis who wish to initiate, expand, and/or enhance creative service projects of an ongoing nature that are focused on the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village or in the neighborhood adjacent to their NYU School or Division. The maximum amount awarded for each application is $500. The application deadline is May 1, 2008 for projects to be piloted during Summer/Fall 2008.

Service Learning Course Development Grants

Service Learning Course Development Grants may be used to develop or enhance undergraduate or graduate courses that include a practicum of a volunteer experience either organized by the instructor or developed by students as an integral part of the course. Grants range from $2,000 to $4,000 and are awarded for one-term, summer or year-long courses.
