The Thom Fluellen Award

The Thom A. Fluellen award of the NYU Community Fund awards one outstanding organization every year with a grant of $5,000. The Selection Committee of the Fund selects this arts, cultural or service organization from the larger applicant pool each year. Recipient organizations of this award demonstrate the excellence that Thom made evident in his work, life and commitment to New York University.

Thom A. Fluellen, the late Staff Director of the NYU Community Fund, also served as the Associate Director of Community & Government Relations. He also served on the University Senate representing the Administrative Management Council. In 1998, Thom was awarded the Distinguished Administrator Award for his accomplishments at NYU.

The Thom A. Fluellen award honors Thom Fluellen's tireless efforts for his community, for his devotion to his family and friends, for his great sense of humor and most importantly for teaching all who knew him how to live life to the fullest.
