A Place for Kids
To utilize the funds to implement an afterschool program forcused to enhance the love of reading and literacy of low income immigrant children in Chinatown.

Art in General
To support their in-school arts education program for underserved youth in Chinatown.

Ascension Outreach/Michael D. Fender Food Pantry
To provide bags of nonperishable food twice a week; each bag provides approximately nine meals for each individual. $2,500 would provide 150 cases of food.

Bailey House, Inc.
To fund a therapeutic recreation program for men and women with HIV/AIDS at our Bailey-Holt House residence in Greenwich Village.

Barrier Free Living, Inc.
To request funds for the purchase of new kitchen equipment for their Transitional Housing Program Training Kitchen, which is a component of their larger Occupational Therapy Program.

Bowery Mission
To help the Bowery Mission fulfill its goal of offering compassionate care to the homeless in Manhattan's Lower East Side: the provision of food, shelter, clothing, showers and quality medical care.

Bowery Residents Community
To fund the maintenance and repainting of Clyde Burton Housing, a permanent housing residence for seniors fifty-five and older.

Cabrini Immigrant Services
To support the immigrant family program, requested funding will provide access to cultural and art events for participants in their program.

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center
To request funds in order to help subsidize their delivery of healthcare services to LBGT youth, including medications, dental care and prevention support.

Caring Community
To request funding for their chair exercise program, an ongoing collaboration with NYU's graduate physical therapy program; funding will be used for student stipends and advertising.

Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services
To request support for educational services within the Court Employment Project, an alternative to incarceration program for young men and women.

Chelsea Opera
To request funds which will be used to subsidize 150 tickets for underserved youth and seniors to its 5th anniversary gala performances.

Children of Bellevue
The infant Layette Program provides a basic set of clothing for newborns whose families are destitute.

Chinese Progressive Association
To seek support for a college and career readiness program designed for immigrant youth from low income families to introduce them to the college admission process as well as career development.

The Church of St. Luke in the Fields
To request renewed support for two independent, non-sectarian outreach programs at St.Luke in the Fields: The PLWA Project, food, friends and fellowship for people living with HIV/AIDS, and The Church, art and acceptance for the LGBTQA Youth.

College and Community Fellowship
To request funds so that more students can get mentoring and tutoring support, increasing their ability to serve the growing number of former prisoners who wish to pursue college degrees and broaden their impact on their communities.

Connecting to Advantages
To request additional funds for the development of new food pantries, where trained volunteers refer those eligible to government benefits that can aid them.

Cooper Square Committee
To strengthen and stabilize poor and working families in our service area by ensuring that eligible clients access basic entitlements such as decent housing, healthcare and nutrition.

Cornelia Connelly Center
To seek funding to help cover the cost of their annual eighth grade trip to the Karen Noonan Memorial Environmental Education Center on Chesapeake Bay.

Disabilities Network of New York City
To request funds in support of disTHIS!, and innovative film series showcasing cutting-edge interpretations of the disability experience; this grant will support a partnership with the NYU Council on the Study of Disability to bring disTHIS! to the NYU community and other critical audiences.

Downtown Music Productions
To support Sunday @ 3 a.m. concert series of the East Village Community Concerts, senior musical arts series, and concerts for children.

Educational Alliance
To request a grant of $2,500 for general operating support, in order to serve children, seniors, adults and families.

Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center
Please support a collaborative venture with the NYU Interactive Technology Program to launch "Shutterbugs," an adaptive photography program for youth in our Pediatric Center whose diabilities impede many other forms of self-expression. Original designs for adaptive equipment will be shared online with other organizations for diabled persons, multiplying the impact of this innovative program.

Father's Heart Ministries, Inc.
Due to an increase in number of people attending and severe cuts to our budget, they need financial augmentation.

Fourth Arts Block (FAB)
To request support for their annual FAB! Festival and Block Party, a weekend of free and discounted performances by more than forty artists.

Fresh Art, Inc.
To request support for an exhibition of artworks by NYC artists with special needs and a fine arts workshop at a senior's residence.

Friends House
Phang, a prevention, information and educational initivative, against HIV/AIDS in the next generation.

George Jackson Academy
To request funds in order to expand the school year program, offering a summer session through July for a third year.

Grand Street Settlement
To seek funding in support of their Girls' and Young Women's Initiative and Boys' and Young Men's Initiative, gender-based programs designed to help area youth envision and create a more positive future.

Greater Chinatown Community Association (GCCA)
To request funding for its acupuncture/massage therapy service.

Henry Street Settlement's Boys and Girls Republic (BGR)
To request funds in support of their evening basketball programming for youth; with the help of the NYU Community fund we will maintain 60 youth in the program and offer participants the opportunity to participate in three seasonal basketball tournaments hosted annually by BGR.

Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen
To request a total grant of $1,500: $1,200 for summer interns to provide counseling and referrals for soup kitchen guests and $300 for materials.

Hope for Our Neighbors in Need (HNN)
To request funds to continue and expand food and social service referral program, "Hope for our Neighbors in Need," sponsored by The Chruch of the Village.

iMentor
iMentor requests a grant to expand its mentoring program which connects 1,000 underserved youth in New York City with volunteer mentors each year.

Judson Memorial Church
To help continue the new "Judson Arts" performance series at historic Judson Church on Washington Square, featuring a wide variety of performing artists in music, dance, and theater. Events are free to the public.

LaGuardia Corner Gardens
$2000 disabled entrance, $1500 school trip planting program.

Lower East Side Business Improvement District
To support the Lower East Side BID's two signature events: International Pickle Day and NYC Apple Day, which celebrate the Lower East Side and promote economic development.

Lower East Side District Management Assoc.
To support International Pickle Day- a community cultural event in the LES that promotes the neightnorhood's history, food, culture, business, and future.

Lower East Side Family Union
To support the implementation of Family Team Conferences, a new strengths-based model that will promote child safety and well-being.

Manhattan Land Trust, MLT
To assist with the costs for a summer program, Read and Seed: a program for children at the Lower East Side People Care Garden.

Mariners' Temple Baptist Church Helping Hands Outreach Program
To assist the Helping Hands Clothing and Food Program in providing comprehensive clothing, food, training, social services, referrals and other needed services to disadvantaged families and individuals residing in lower Manhattan.

Nativity Mission Center
To request a grant to offset the costs of their Graduate Support Services which provides academic support and financial (tuition) assistance to the high school students who recently graduated Nativity Mission Center.

Nazareth Housing, Inc.
To support the Transitional Housing Family Shelter Program by helping to fund the cost of apartment rent for shelter units in the face of large city budget cuts in the coming fiscal year.

New York City Rescue Mission
To help fund the purchase of twenty-six new metal lockers for their Second Floor Dormitory for homeless men.

New York Foundling
To request a grant to partially cover the cost of a three-week overnight summer camp for over 120 children recruited from NYC foster care and prevention programs.

Nicu's Spoon
To subsidize tickets for youth in addition to educational work in the disabled community.

Our Time Theatre Company
To request a renewed grant in support of Our Time NYC, which provides 30 to 40 young people who stutter with a collection of activities to learn the basics of acting, playwriting, songwriting, singing, directing and movement from a team of theater professionals culminating in full-scale performances of their own plays.

Parsifal's Production/ The Metropolitan Playhouse
To request a grant in support of Metropolitan's Open House Program, keeping their mission to establish connections with and among their neighbors and providing free admission to members of their community who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live theater.

Project Ezra
To ensure that elders have sufficient food, and as well as to subsidize the cost of medications, prescription and/or over-the-counter.

Project Renewal, Inc.
To seek operational funding for two mobile primary care clinics serving homeless New Yorkers.

Reproductive Health Access Project
The Women's Health Care Free Clinic provides critical health care to uninsured women and teens in NYC. The requested funds will provide the clinic with needed supplies.

Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc.
To request funds for critical specialized community-based training that is pragmatic and enables parents and professionals to act and advocate effectively on NYC children with special needs.

SAGE - Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders
To support SAGE's 2nd Annual LBGT Senior Health Fair, the only event in New York City that provides LGBT older adults access to health care and service providers dedicated to providing high quality LGBT-affirming services.

St. Anthony of Padua Senior Club
To request funds for operating costs to assist the senior citizens of the community.

St. Francis Xavier Misson
To request funds for assistance with the operation of Xavier Mission's Life Skills Training and Empowerment Program (L-STEP), a 24 session group for homeless and formerly-homeless individuals, that provides them with life training and mentoring.

St. Joseph's Soup Kitchen
To help cover both maintenance and equipment expenses while continuing their mission to feed the needy of NYC.

Theatre Breaking Through Barriers
Help to produce our 2nd mainstage play of the season - the NYC premiere of "A Nervous Smile" by disabled playwright and NYU grad, John Belluso, April 17-May 17, 2009 on the theatre row.

Third Street Music School Settlement
To request a grant to help support the 28th annual presentation of "Music in Abe Lebewohl Park," a series of free weekly outdoor concerts on Thursday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. from June 4th through July 23rd 2009.

Times Up
To request funding to educate children ages 4-14 on the importance of the environment, healthy lifestyle choices, and the joy of safe bicycling through outdoor events.

Trinity's Services and Food for the Homeless
Grant will be used to continue feeding program for homless population within L.E.S./East Village.

University Community Social Services, Inc.
To enhance the health of our guests through the periodic distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as heart-healthy foods high in anti-oxidants and packed with vitamins and minerals. Through our program, we would like to offer our guests a shopping bag of food items "to go" twice a month including informational brochures and pamphlets describing improvement of one's diet and proper nutrition, in essence creating The University Community "soup-er-market" without a checkout line.

University Settlement Society of New York, Inc.
To request funding for the University Settlement's Talent Search program, which is a college-preparedness service targeting disadvantaged youth facing significant personal, financial, and societal obstacles to higher education.

Urban Justice Center
To request a grant from the NYU Community Fund for its work to preserve affordable housing and prevent harassment and displacement of low-income tenants in the Lower East Side, East Village, Chinatown and surrounding communities.

Village Temple Soup Kitchen
To request funds for the purchase of food for their ongoing program that feeds the needy in their community. Volunteers work hard every day to prepare and serve 11,000 meals annually.

VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired
To provide vision rehabilitation equipment for blind and visually impaired children and youth who reside in lower Manhattan. Equipment will be utilized at VISIONS at Selis Manor community center and their homes.

Visiting Neighbors, Inc.
To provide continuing support for visiting neighbors' intergenerational socialization, recreational and educational program that brings seniors and students together to learn from each other.

Visual AIDS
Quality of life services to HIV-positive visual artists. Presentation of AIDS awareness contemporary art.

Young Playwrights, Inc.
To provide tuition waivers for underprivileged youth attending YPF's workshops.
