Commencement | Tickets

If you missed the April 25 TorchTone deadline, you must place and pick up All-University Commencement tickets and/or Grad Alley lanyards any time beginning Wednesday, May 7, outside the Barrie Dance Studio, on the first floor of Coles during distribution hours (see schedule below).

Degree Candidate Tickets

Candidates will require a candidate ticket to enter Yankee Stadium. Because there are no rehearsals, all your instructions including entrance gate, arrival time, information regarding the ceremony and the return of academic attire are on your ticket envelope. Please carefully read this information. Candidates must retain their ticket and envelope.

Guest Tickets

Degree candidates may request a maximum of six guest tickets for admission into Yankee Stadium. The guest ticket envelope will include important information including entrance gates, arrival time, maps and directions. Guests should carefully read and retain this information as well as their guest tickets. Guest seating will be general admission.

  1. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO THE STADIUM: LAPTOP COMPUTERS, BACKPACKS, BRIEFCASES, ATTACHE CASES, COOLERS, GLASS OR PLASTIC BOTTLES, CANS, LARGE PURSES, BAGS, VIDEO CAMERAS AND SUCH OTHER ITEMS WHICH MAY CAUSE THE RISK OF INJURY.
  2. THERE IS NO CLAIM CHECK OR STORAGE FACILITY AT THE STADIUM FOR ITEMS WHICH ARE DENIED ENTRY.
  3. DIAPER BAGS, SMALL CHILDRENS BACKPACKS, SMALL WOMENS PURSES & BACKPACK PURSES MAY BE PERMITTED IN THE STADIUM, BUT ONLY AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN SCREENED AND DETERMINED THAT THEY DO NOT CONTAIN ANY ITEMS WHICH MAY CAUSE THE RISK OF INJURY.
  4. NO RE-ENTRY WILL BE PERMITTED.
  5. NO ALCOHOL WILL BE SOLD IN THE STADIUM FOR THIS EVENT. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN THE STADIUM.

Ticket Distribution

Both candidate and guest tickets must be picked up in person by the candidate at the Coles Sports and Recreation Center, 181 Mercer Street, during the following dates and times:

Fri, May 9 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Mon - Tues, May 12 - 13 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

You must show valid photo I.D. to claim your tickets. Please note that tickets are not transferable.

Third Party Ticket Pick-Up

If the degree candidate lives out of state or cannot pick up tickets at the times allotted, a third party may pick up the tickets providing the following documentation is presented:

Photocopy of the student's ID card
Photo ID of self
Signed letter from the degree candidate authorizing pick-up

International Visa Requests

Visa Requests

Students MUST have ordered All-University Commencement tickets via Torchtone in order to request a visa letter for guests wishing to attend the All-University Commencement. Please fill out a student visa request form from the Student Services at 25 West Fourth Street. Student Services will send the form to Jimmy Doussi in the University Registrar's Office.

A student can also write a letter to Mr. Doussi's attention at 7 East 12th Street 4th floor, New York, NY 10003, or fax the request to 212-995-4558.

This request should include the following information:

  • Name
  • Student ID #
  • School
  • Phone #

Mr. Doussi will reply to each student detailing what proof of relationship, if needed, he needs before he can write the visa letter.

For visa requests from candidates from Law, Dentistry, Medicine or Stern Graduate, please contact your individual school's Registrar's Office.
