Mission
The Wagner Finance Society (WFS) is committed to increasing the
education and awareness of financial issues and concerns amongst the
Wagner community. The WFS is also dedicated to broadening the
traditional perception of the financial field by exposing the Wagner
community to the diverse array of business opportunities related to the
field. In addition, WFS plans to increase the visibility and reputation
of Wagner in the public, nonprofit, governmental, and private
organizations of New York City and beyond. To accomplish this, we
intend to establish and sustain a forum for organizations, professors,
alumni, and students to interact and discuss finance related job
opportunities, topics, ideas, and concerns.
Goals
Increase the prominence of the Wagner name and the strength of the Wagner program within the New York University community as well as among potential employers and other “elite” universities;
Help students and alumni take advantage of the financial opportunities in New York City and beyond;
Help all Wagner students understand the importance and relevance of sound financial management and / or accounting practices, regardless of their specializations or career endeavors; and
Create a community where professors, alumni and students
can build and sustain significant lifetime relationships.
