Perry Chen made
the jump from Fort Lauderdale, FL to NYC last fall, and is still adjusting to
wearing a winter coat. He received his undergraduate degree in Information Systems
from the University of Florida, and is proud to call himself a “Mac”
person (represent!). Perry’s current planning interests are in redevelopment
and housing issues. Feel free to ask him anything about school, living in NYC
or about how to organize a planning Capstone project! If there’s live
music, you’ll find Perry there. If not, you can find him singing at a
local spot with his band, Hoffman.

Jennifer Jensen is a Hoosier from Indianapolis who moved to
New York City over three years ago to work in journalism. She studied sociology
and English at Middlebury College in Vermont where work with Habitat for Humanity
turned her on to a possible future in community development and planning. Jen
has spent the last year at the Taub Urban Research Center analyzing economic
assistance programs for small businesses and nonprofits after the Sept. 11 terrorist
attack. She enjoys basketball, bird watching, traveling and the occasional '80s
dance party. Ask her about classes or topics in economic development, Hoosier
trivia, or housing.

Meredith Louise Phillips is originally from New Bedford, MA,
but recently moved to NYC from California 's Bay Area where she attended UC
Berkeley (west side!). Meredith spent the last year at the Brooklyn-based International
Organization for Adolescents working in international youth and community issues.
She is following the international development track at Wagner, and hopes to
start her own NGO…someday. This summer, Meredith is traveling to Africa
to help establish a micro-loan fund for young women in Tanzania. She’s
active in many of Wagner's student organizations (ALAS, SADA, IPSA, and of course,
UPSA!), and subscribes to almost every listserv at NYU – if there’s
something going on, ask her! Or…ask her about the Oakland A’s.

Daniel Turley originally began his bachelor's at Brown University,
but soon went on a “Tour de Bachelor's" by attending American University
and finally finishing up at Arizona State University with a concentration in
Urban Studies. Originally from Phoenix, AZ, Daniel often longs for good Mexican
food, sunshine, and cacti. He is concentrating in economic development and physical
re-development. If you have any questions regarding real estate markets, brownfield
developments, or just want to be nostalgic about how great the West is, give
him a buzz.

Joel Dabu moved to New York City after graduating from George
Washington University with a degree in American Studies, where his fascination
with built and urban environments was born. He grew up in Virginia Beach, the
town with no downtown, and hopes to pursue an advanced degree in architecture
after his MUP. This year, Joel worked at the Neighborhood Preservation Center
in Manhattan. This summer, he's interning at a planning firm in San Diego--when
he's not at the beach. Ask Joel about urban design, place-making, or about his
future planning/architecture consultancy firm.

Becky Koepnick grew
up in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, a city who has seen better days and put the
idea in her head to be a planner. She went to Smith College in Massachusetts
for her B.A. in government (FYI it’s a women's college, not a girl’s
school). After that she spent two years doing research at a public policy research
firm in Cambridge, MA. Sitting in front of databases all day did not suit her
so she applied to graduate school. She worked last year at the Furman Center
for Real Estate and Urban Policy and is most interested in affordable housing
and economic development. Ask her about the joy of planning a wedding in rural
Virginia, the "development" of West Chelsea, and affordable housing.
