
Student Network Exploring Art and Culture (SNEAC)
The Student Network Exploring Arts & Culture (SNEAC) at Wagner aims to promote informed discourse and activity in the arts and cultural sector, with an emphasis on policy and administration
Goals
· To promote discussion of issues in arts and cultural policy and administration.
· To explore challenges and opportunities within nonprofit and community arts organizations.
· To create access and exposure to arts and cultural events and activities.
· To provide a voice for arts and cultural issues within the NYU/Wagner community.
· To collaborate with Wagner school administration and student groups to develop arts and cultural curricula.
· To provide resources that help students translate their interests in this field into career opportunities.
· To examine connections between the arts and culture sector and other public service disciplines.
· To explore the societal impact of arts and cultural organizations on community growth, development, and change.
· To build networks with and support for arts and cultural organizations and practitioners, particularly connecting Wagner students to available resources in the field.
· Upcoming events for the 2005-2006 academic school year include:
· Architectural art walking tour
· Arts related career panel from various arts professionals in NYC
· Student art projects
· Community involvement and volunteer activities with nonprofit arts organizations
· Lectures related to pertinent arts issues
