Executive Board

The sevadaars for the USA Executive Board during NYU’s 2008-2009 academic year are:

 

Satjeet Kaur Nayar, Co-President

Satjeet is currently a Junior at NYU CAS. She is working on her pre-med credits as well as a Psychology and Religious Studies double major. Satjeet says, "USA is an integral part of what keeps me grounded at NYU and it gives me the opportunity to give back to the community as well as meet new people". Satjeet works part time at SAMAR, a South Asian marrow donor recruitment organization that helps patients with leukemia and other fatal blood disorders find matching marrow donors. She is also treasurer of Medical Dialogue (an OSA-NYU club). In her free time she loves the usual, hanging out with friends and family and if she has extra free time, she loves to travel.

 

Sandeep Singh Guleria, Co-President

Sandeep is a Junior at New York University pursuing a double-major in Finance and Accounting at the Leonard N. Stern School Of Business. His involvement with USA is driven by a love for Sikhi and Gurmat, and desire to evolve into a an active Sikh leader. Sandeep is also the President of the Medical Economics Society (MedEcs) at NYU, a club which seeks to bridge the gap between medicine and economics. In his free time, he enjoys investing in the stock market, reading books on a wide-array of topics, jamming with friends on the harmonium, and enjoying all that NYC has to offer. Sandeep is also a sevadaar for Keertan.Org, one the largest repositories of keertan on the internet.

 

Mandeep Singh Kataria, Vice-President

Mandeep S Kataria is currently a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and studying pre-medicine, while majoring in Economics. He has participated in several charitable events such as health drives and homeless drives. He has also helped organize several events such as Langar, NYU Nach, and NYU Kirtan. Currently he is also a writer for Washington Square News. His interests include basketball, bowling, and online games.

 

Chanpreet Kaur Sawhney, Treasurer

Chanpreet Sawhney is currently a Junior in CAS, majoring in Economics and Pre-medicine. USA has provided her with a great outlet to engage in Seva and incorporate it into her life as much as possible. Chanpreet is a Resident Assistant and a member of Phi Delta Epsilon. In her free time, she enjoys meeting with family and friends, shopping, playing board games, traveling, and long walks on the beach.

Legacy

Nimeeta Kaur Sachdev, President 2007-2008

Nimeeta is currently a senior at NYU pursuing a degree in psychology and pre-business. Upon graduation, Nimeeta plans to obtain a career in consulting or marketing. She aspires to start her own nonprofit organization for Sikh youth and/or underprivileged children someday. When not working, studying, or planning something for USA, she likes to listen to keertan, read, or dance. In addition to her leadership role with USA, Nimeeta is actively involved in the Sikh youth community, organizing workshops, camps, planning fundraisers, mentoring, or teaching Punjabi classes. She sees tremendous potential in USA and hopes that her passion for Sikhi motivates her to make this year a stepping stone for continuing success and solidarity.
