TUSC will be holding elections for its Executive Board from April 9th-13th, 2007. If you are interested in running for a position, please read the information below and complete an application.

What is TUSC?
The Tisch Undergraduate Student Council (TUSC) is the student government of the Tisch School of the Arts. Its purpose is to represent the undergraduate student body at Tisch, both at the School level and at the University level. It also plays a crucial role in promoting and funding all Tisch clubs and organizations. It is led by a nine member Executive Board that in turn presides over a General Council comprised of representatives from Tisch clubs and departments.
Who Can Apply?
Nominations are open to all Tisch School of the Arts undergraduates with the following restrictions:
- Anyone running for the positions of President, Vice President, or Senator must have served on the TUSC Executive Board for at least one semester.
- All nominees must have good academic standing.
How Can I Campaign?
Campaigning can be done at the discretion of the candidates in accordance with all building rules and regulations. However, candidates may not have access to the plasma screen and may not advertise through any official Tisch or TUSC-sponsored mediums, such as email directs or the display cases in the Common Room.
What Positions are Available?
- President:
Serves as the official voice and leader of the Tisch Undergraduate Student Council. In addition to serving on TUSC, the Student Council President serves on the University Committee on Student Life (UCSL) along with the Student Senator. In order to run for President, must have spent at least one semester on TUSC.
- Vice-President:
Aids and supports the President in any way deemed necessary. Leads and organizes Freshman Orientation. In order to run for Vice President, must have spent one semester on the TUSC E-Board.
- Senator:
Serves as the official liaison to the Student Senator's Council and the University Senate for TUSC. Must have room in schedule to attend Senate and UCSL meetings as well as Senate committee meetings which usually meet weekly. In order to run for Senator, must have spent one semester on the TUSC E-Board.
- Alternate Senator:
Serves as the official liaison to the Student Senator's Council and the University Senate whenever the Senator is absent.
- Treasurer:
Oversees distribution of student activity money. Handles all financial concerns and communications involving TUSC and all TUSC-funded student clubs. Serves as the official liaison to the NYU Central Banking Account and the Bursar's Office.
- Secretary:
Records and distributes the General Council and Executive Board Meeting minutes. Records attendance at all meetings. Keeps all TUSC records and files in order. May also manage the TUSC website and listserve.
- Club Liaison:
Acts as the official liaison between the TUSC Executive Board and all TUSC-funded clubs. Advises clubs on TUSC procedures and events.
- Publicity Director:
Posts all pertinent TUSC flyers, e-mails and communiqués throughout the Tisch and NYU community. Plans and organizes the TUSC calendar and advises all TUSC-funded clubs on advertising.
How Do I Sign Up?
- Submit the attached application by either filling it out and turning it into the Office of Student Affairs (721 Broadway, 8th Floor) or by going to the TUSC website, www.nyutusc.com, and submitting it online. Priority Deadline is April 4th. Absolute Deadline is April 6th.
- The information you provide us with on the application will be posted on the Blackboard voting site in order for students to find out more about you.
- Students will have a chance to then vote during the week of April 9th-13th. You will be notified of the results the following week.
