The Tisch Undergraduate Student Council, or TUSC, is the student governing body for the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. The Executive Board is made up of eight elected officers and one appointed position, the Freshmen Representative. Together with the General Council (comprised of a representative from each of our undergraduate departments and clubs) we make decisions and serve as the students’ voice to the administration, faculty, and University Senate. TUSC is also responsible for allocating money to Tisch clubs, planning Freshman Orientation Week, running a number of events for students throughout the year, and sending a team to the All-University Games in February. Furthermore, over the past couple of years, we have worked hard to expand our advocacy role in the school through Town Hall Meetings that address issues and concerns raised by Tisch students.

     TUSC is committed to serving the student body. At our weekly E-Board meetings, we review proposals for emerging clubs and new events. Our relatively new ProFunds program is also designed to extend some of our funds, along with a generous grant from the Dean, to students who actively engage in extracurricular collaboration with other Tisch students outside of their department. General Council meetings keep us informed about club and departmental issues, and we use student feedback from our Town Hall and General Meetings to formulate ideas to present to Dean Campbell, who we meet with once a semester.

     I am honored and excited to serve as the TUSC president for the 2006-2007 school year! Our new E-Board is composed of a great group of talented individuals who are dedicated to improving the quality of student life at Tisch, and each has his or her own strengths that allow us to represent and serve our large and diverse student body.
