The Tisch GSO is actively involved in helping graduate students throughout our school meet together, socialize, and actively engage one another as artists.

Calendar of Events:

2013:

1. The next and final GSO Grad Mixer has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 2nd @ Riese Lounge, 721 Broadway from 5:30-8pm.
Come mix with your fellow Tisch grads and enjoy wine and tasty bites. We will feature a special performance by one of our grant winning teams and hold a drawing to give away $60 Cap and Gown Reimbursements!  Don't miss your chance to win! You must be 21 with a valid photo I.D. to attend.

2.  Call for Projects: Tisch Online Arts Festival 2013:

The Tisch Graduate Student Organization (GSO) in partnership with Tisch Asia in Singapore announces an Online Arts Festival, to take place May 6-19, 2013. The Tisch School of the Arts provides an environment for creative thinking and artistic freedoms, with relevance beyond the school and into the professional realm. The GSO and Tisch Asia wish to provide an avenue for connecting the imaginative minds at Tisch and issues a call for projects from the community.
While we often find ourselves aware of the other departments within Tisch, time and resources limit opportunities for collaboration. This division is more significant when physical limitations are taken into account.  Tisch in New York City and its affiliate, Tisch Asia in Singapore, are recognized as parts of a full Tisch community, yet few people are conscious of the activities of our counterparts. Our respective locations inspire us in unique ways and too often our expressive outlets are limited to our immediate surroundings. As all of us are aware, the internet provides an environment where this chasm can be bridged and ideas can be shared globally. It’s time the graduate students in the Tisch community took advantage of this resource for some major mind melding.
The Tisch Online Arts Festival aims to provide a forum for Tisch students and alumni to share work with other students internationally and outside of their respective departments. Participants are encouraged to submit short video presentations or demonstrations of their work to our reserved Vimeo channel, Tisch Festival 2013 where the work will be available to the public for comments for two weeks. You do not have to submit material in order to collaborate!
Students are encouraged to provide prior works in order to demonstrate complete or fully realized concepts.  Along with the videos, participants are welcome to include additional ideas for future projects or collaborations and networking opportunities.
Students from all graduate departments in Tisch are welcome to submit.
Submissions may include but are not limited to:
- Samples of animated pieces
- Explorations in the digital and interactive arts
- Performance pieces, including examples of writing or design
- Short slide shows of still images, artworks
- Audio Clips of written songs or spoken dialogue
Please visit www.tischfestival.com for submission instructions and guidelines.
Please note: all work will be available to the public. If you are presenting a work in progress, please be aware this may disqualify future entries into other arts festivals or competitions. Read and be aware of the guidelines regarding potential competitions.

Submissions are Due Wednesday, May 1st. The Festival committee will review submissions for relevance, appropriateness, and sufficient descriptions and tagging. Submissions will be made available to the public on Monday, May 6th and the online festival will run until Sunday, May 19th.
