Lou Capozzi

Lou Capozzi is chairman emeritus of the Publicis Public Relations and Corporate Communications Group, which includes all of the public relations firms and related agencies in the world’s fourth-largest communications holding company. Formerly CEO of Manning, Selvage & Lee, he was also Vice President of Corporate Communications for Aetna Life & Casualty and earlier held communications positions in both public relations firms and corporations.  A journalism graduate of New York University, he holds an MBA in Finance from Bernard Baruch Graduate School of Business.

Eugene Donati

Eugene Donati is a private consultant and serves as counsel to Logos Consulting Group, New York.  Previously, he was Managing Director at Clark & Weinstock, a strategic business communications consultancy, for investor relations, public affairs and media relations.  He served earlier as spokesman at Mellon Bank and Equitable Capital, as consultant at the PR agency Hill & Knowlton, and as Press Secretary for two Members of Congress. He holds a B.A. Degree in International Relations from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Public Administration Degree from the American University, Washington, DC and  an additional Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto in Forest Science & Communication.

John Doorley

John Doorley, academic director of this program, is approaching a decade of teaching experience, first at Rutgers, as an adjunct instructor and then as a member of the full-time faculty, and now at NYU. His most recent position in industry was as head of corporate communications at Merck, then the world’s largest and most admired health care company. Previously, he was chief speechwriter for the CEO of Hoffmann LaRoche Inc., and prior to that spent 10 years in marketing.  He holds a B.A. Degree in Biology from St Vincent College and an M.A. in Journalism from NYU. He is the winner of numerous writing awards and is co-author with Helio Fred Garcia of a book on Reputation Management, from the venerable publisher Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group.


Toni Muzi Falconi

Toni Muzi Falconi is Senior Counsel of Methodos, an Italian change and knowledge management consultancy based in Milano. Previously, he was CEO of SCR, Italy’s largest pr agency; and director of communication of Fabbri Editori and of 3M Company in Italy. He now teaches Public Relations at Rome’s Lumsa University at the Vatican. He is head of international relations at Ferpi (Italian Federation of Public Relations) and advisor to the chairman of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. He is author of various books in Italian and a regular columnist in various Italian mainstream and social media. His blog is www.prconversations.com.

Helio Fred Garcia

Helio Fred Garcia is President of the crisis management firm Logos Consulting Group, and Exececutive Director of The Logos Institute for Crisis Management & Executive Leadership.  He is widely regarded as an expert in crisis management and communication. He has taught at NYU for 19 years, and now teaches the courses in ethics and strategy in the PR&CC program. He has received the NYU/SCPS awards for teaching excellence and outstanding service. He also teaches crisis management in the Executive MBA program of the Stern School. He received a B.A. from NYU and an M.A. from Columbia University.  He is co-author with John Doorley of Reputation Management: The Key to Successful Public Relations & Corporate Communication.

Anita Kawatra

Anita Kawatra is a communications and public affairs executive in New York, specializing in crisis management, organizational turnarounds, and public policy and advocacy.  She is now VP of Public Affairs at Elan Pharmaceuticals.
Previously, Anita held senior communications and policy positions at Merck, at Medco Health, and in government and politics, including speechwriter for New York Governor Mario Cuomo and New York City Mayor David Dinkins, for whom she served as Chief of Staff after his tenure as Mayor. Anita holds a B.A. from Yale College and an M.A. from Columbia University, where she was founding chair of the Conference on American Studies. She is working on a novel, and will have a short story published in 2008.

Paul Oestreicher

Paul Oestreicher, President of Oestreicher Communications, LLC, specializes in corporate and marketing communications, business strategy and development, and issues and crisis management. He makes complex issues understandable and compelling for media, investors, policy makers, consumers and employees. He has worked on or repositioned over 50 products, and was one of the early architects of third-party/advocacy communications. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Rochester, an M.S. and Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from Rutgers University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pharmacology while with Wyeth Laboratories. Jay Rubin

Jay Rubin, President of Jay Rubin & Associates, is a public relations writer and consultant to some of America’s best-known companies.  He also writes speeches for senior executives in the communications and consumer products industries, and he conducts writing seminars on-site at various corporations. Earlier in his career, he was a corporate communications and marketing executive in the cable television field and was an editor/writer at several business publications. He is a recipient of the NYU/SCPS Award for Teaching Excellence and is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

Fraser Seitel

Fraser P. Seitel is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Emerald Partners, a strategic communications counseling firm, and Senior Counselor at the pr agency Burson-Marsteller. Previously, he was Director of Public Affairs and Senior VP of Chase Manhattan Bank.  He is adviser to some of the country’s most notable families and individuals, including members of the NYU Board of Trustees. His leading text, The Practice of Public Relations, is in its 10th edition from Prentice Hall. He received a B.S. Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri, an M.S. Degree in Communication from the University of North Dakota, and an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
