NYU Hosts Ann Coulter to Sell Out Crowd

Tickets Go Quick for the Conservative Columnist at one of the Nation’s Most Liberal Institutions

New York, NY, 11/15/08 - New York University College Republicans are proud to announce their keynote speaker for this semester will be Ann Coulter. “Ann Coulter at New York University” is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Eisner and Lubin Auditorium. She will be appearing before a sell out crowd of 450 students, faculty, and members of the community.

The Eisner and Lubin Auditorium is located on the 4th floor of the Kimmel Center at 60 Washington Square South. .

Ann Coulter is a political commentator, syndicated columnist, and 6-time New York Times Best Selling Author. Her publishing career began with a book aimed at the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and she shows no signs of letting up with the release of her upcoming book scheduled to hit shelves on December 30th, the title has yet to be released. Coulter’s lecture will cover the elections, current events, the future of the Republican Party, and the importance of student activism. Following the lecture will be a open question and answer section.

“It’s important that students have access to a diverse pool of thought and opinion. Thanks to the Young American’s Foundation and the hard work of our members, Ann Coulter will bring to NYU a distinctive vantage point, one that is absent from the discourse on our campus. We are proud to provide our student body with this opportunity and look forward to more in the future,” said College Republican’s Secretary Annie Peck.

A portion of the evenings proceeds will go to benefit the 2nd Annual “Treats for Troops: NYU Troop Care Packages” program, providing care packages and letters of thanks to the servicemen and women stationed in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Last year the club was able to raise support and awareness for two active duty units, and this year has set a goal to expand their outreach.

The NYU College Republicans are an organization of undergraduate students committed to establishing and facilitating political discourse and evaluation. As a result to the College Republicans dedication, US News and World Report ranked NYU as the 3rd Most Politically Active Campus in the nation, specifically mentioning the club for their work. Coulter’s appearance will conclude a star studded lecture season that has included U.N. Ambassador John Bolton, FOX News anchor Jon Scott, policy advisor Max Schultz, authors S.E. Cupp and Brett Joshpe, and many more. Weekly meetings are open to the public and are held every Thursday night, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. in Kimmel 808, or join the College Republicans online at www.nyu.edu/clubs/republicans for more information.
