Finding a Meaning for Pakistan:
Between Decline, Dictatorship, and Dispersion
Haroon Moghul, an NYU/PSA Alum, speaks about his newly published book
MY FIRST POLICE STATE
Wednesday, October 29
@ 7:00 pm
Kimmel Center Room 907

A country about which much is heard but much too little is known, Pakistan is often veiled from the world.
Pakistan has one of the most intriguing beginnings of all Muslim states, a birth with lessons, parallels and contrasts especially relevant to our era of clashes of identities.
Haroon Moghul will explore the origins of the idea of Pakistan, challenging long-held assumptions, criticisms and commentaries, while looking at the potential Pakistan has in the future.
Moghul will discuss Quaid-e-Azam’s desires for Pakistan, where Pakistan finds itself today, and how Islamic economics and politics can build a better Pakistan in the path of Quaid-e-Azam’s dreams and the aspirations of its population.
