Fair Trade Conference Success

08 OCT 05 | This past weekend's Fair Trade Conference at NYU was a success.

With a range of 30 students from a total of 7 different schools, our northeast regional conference on fair trade was a major success. Workshops included dealing with dining services, structuring your campaign, and focusing in on some of the more technical language of this complex issue. To read more on what was discussed, check out our conference report (Word file).

Our speakers included staff from Transfair USA, the New York City Fair Trade Coalition, and a wonderful speaker who is also a cacao farmer from Belize.

These amazing guests were able to provide a first-hand perspective of the process of fair trade and the rewards it can bring to farmers all over the world. At the end of a long day of discussion and learning, these speakers were able to put our work into the perspective of our greater global mission. We thank them endlessly for taking the time out to speak to us.

Students traveled from as far as the University of Vermont!

To as close as Fordham University!
