Resources
We wrote this last year as a help to all the new students in the city.
If you have any suggestions please (you can submit via the suggestions page), send them to use and we will include it in the Guide.
Thank you!
NYU has many resources, besides OBW, that you should take advantage of. This is not a $40,000 university for nothing. The best advice I ever received was from NYU alumna Tonya Noble. She told us to take advantage of NYU as much as possible. So here are some resources to do just that!
If you are a commuter, I am sure you have already checked out Commuter Services, but just in case you did not please do. And if you live in Jersey (like me!) do not forget your 25% discount on NJTransit tickets!
Go see Avenue Q or Wicked, heck a movie, but before you do, hit Ticket Central to get student priced tickets.
So maybe you can't hit the MoMa this weekend, but you can get an art fix at the Grey Art Gallery (first floor of Silver, doors facing the park) or the Small Works Gallery, also know as the 80 Washington Square East Galleries (cross over Washington Place, doors also facing the park). I used to work in Grey and students rarely (almost never) came in, so take a peek. It's good stuff.
Also, check out the other student organizations as well. Networking is the key to life (after graduation and before). You can check out many other clubs, as well as ours, at Club Fest on Thursday, September 7, from 2pm to 7pm, in Coles Sports Center.
