Fall 2007 Auditions: September 10th, 2007 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

So you want to be in Mass Transit? Here's what you need to know!

Eligibility:
Any current NYU student may audition for the group. We only accept tenors and basses. If you are an alto or soprano, you may audition for the Cleftomaniacs.
Preparation:
Start practicing your favorite pop song... have a verse and a chorus ready to perform unaccompanied (of course we can give you a starting note or chord!). If you can beatbox or do vocal percussion, then be ready to do a few fills.
Sign-Up's:
Please come to the Kimmel Center (60 Washington Square South), 6th floor, to sign up for an audition slot in the hall. Auditions will begin at 6:30p, in ten-minute slots. Come early to make sure you sign up for a time that works for your evening plans! Of course, if you sign up for a later slot you can leave and come back when your time approaches.
Auditioning:
After filling out a little audition form (which is the hardest part of the audition process) we'll call you in. Make sure you are at the sixth floor at least ten minutes before your scheduled slot; if we're waiting a long time for you to arrive, we'll just take the next person who is there.

When you come in, we'll run through some scales to test your range, listen to your audition piece (and your beatboxing / VP skills, if applicable), teach you a section of an arrangement we perform (if time allows) and talk about your schedule, interests, etc. It's really a fun process, so don't get nervous!
Results:
If we choose you to become an MT member, we will notify you within two days of the audition date of your acceptance. Should we decide to hold a callback audition, we will notify you just the same.
