Ohashi's Powerful Integration Ancient Oriental Wisdom and Healing in the Modern World The principle of opposites is ancient. In China, it formed the basis of the first medical book ever written, The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, which articulates the philosophy of opposites as yin and yang, the two forces that make all phenomena possible. It is these two primordial and essential energies that bring about all events in the physical world – including those in our bodies. Ohashi, who began his healing studies in post-WWII Japan and developed his insight and masterful technique over more than three decades of practice, teaching and observation of human nature in the United States, Ohashi says that appreciation is the key to happiness and that the true pleasure of life comes from simplicity. These tenets infuse the teaching of the master’s art of Ohashiatsu, an inspired blending of traditional oriental medical philosophies, modern psychological insight and the healing power of touch. Ohashi’s technique, Ohashiatsu, manipulates the energy within the body using this framework and emphasizes communication and synergism between the giver and receiver, and physical, psychological and spiritual harmony for both. Ohashi brings wit and wisdom to his unique exploration of the human body and psyche and his worldview as well. Ohashiatsu has enriched Eastern healing theory with Western ideas about self-development and awareness, so that Ohashi students can integrate centuries-old wisdom into their modern daily lives. A difference between Ohashiatsu and other bodywork methods is that Ohashi’s method actually improves the giver’s posture, movement and well-being as well as the receiver’s! Ohashiatsu enhances the Ki, or life force, of both giver and receiver. The Ohashi Institute, recently celebrating its 30th Anniversary, is a not-for-profit organization that states a mission - to serve the planet by bringing excellence to the art of healing and serenity to the art of living – thus, the motto: “Touch for Peace.” The Ohashi Institute offers six basic curriculum courses of 30 hours
each plus numerous enhancement workshops at its Chelsea headquarters (147
West 25th Street, NYC, NY 10001), as well as many other locations in the
tri-state area, the United States, South America, Europe and Africa. Each
course offers lecture, exercise, meditation and hands-on training with
the gifted Ohashi Instructors or Ohashi himself. Students may take courses
independently or as part of a complete study program that takes about
two years to complete. For more information about the study of Ohashiatsu
or to book a private session and experience it first hand, call 1-800-810-4190.
Also, the informative web site, www.ohashiatsu.org, will give you a good
introduction to the Institute and overview of course costs and scheduling. |
