Last Will and Testament
By M. Lee

As I lay on my death bed,

Savoring my last breath,

Memories of my past flashes by.

Joyous happenings and wondrous events flow through my mind.

Pictures and words flood my eyes like a roaring fall.

Tears stream down my face like a gentle rain,

Slight tremble embraces my skin.

All I think about are my family and friends.

The ones who have given me all the support I’ve needed.

Their smiling faces are the last images I see,

When my eyes finally come to a placid close.

As my body and soul separate,

I float gently to the heavenly skies.

Each day I would look down upon all that I have loved,

Guarding them with all my love.

Watching over their lives for all perils,

Sending down my prayers whenever they are down.

When they look up to the skies for a hint of sign,

I quietly wink down upon them with a compassionate eye.

For wherever they go, I will always follow.

Through all the darkest times I will shield.

For I will always be with them in mind and spirit.
