Pseudo-Sonnet
by April Pearl Evangelista, Special Contributor

Portrait of dysfunctional family:

I the daughter of devouring dragon

Distant fire she exhales won't change me;

My capricious sister, truth's paragon;

My father, an infallible hero

Fashioned her-alabaster caryatid;

My brother plays violin like Nero

Spoiled narcissistic genius timid;

The youngest-avante garde artist complains

"I have no problems. I'm fine. I'm okay."

Lest I forget, my aunt, the maid clears drains

Doing laundry, cleaning house day-to-day.

Our dilapidated house crumbles.  See.

No tools, a shrink, will fix the breaks in me.
