The
Asian American Arts Centre: Looking Into Creativity

One
year ago, I met Robert Lee, the executive director of the
Asian American Arts Centre and his wife Eleanor Yung, the
Arts Centre's founder. Since then, I have been able to consult
with AAAC, curate a show in collaboration with them with writer
Richard S. Chang for Dreamsomuch, an underground artist community
we founded, but most importantly, I've learned about Asian
American art. The subject is one that has not yet had its
time in the mainstream vogue, nor has it prominently been
seen in our museums and galleries. [more]

Celebrating
the Asian American Voice

October
24, 2002 witnessed a revolution underway, a revolution of
creativity, expression, and drive. On this evening, Second
Generation performed its Second Annual Concert of Excellence
to a sold-out audience in its Carnegie Hall debut. The event
was comprised of musical and theatrical performances from
various Broadway musicals and Second Generation's own musical,
Making Tracks, as well as an awards presentation. It was a
celebration of Asian and Asian American achievement in the
