  Pakistani-American Artists (cont'd)
by Zebunnisa Hamid, special contributor

However, Rahim's love for dance has not disappeared, as he discovered on a recent trip to Pakistan where he helped set up a dance workshop for children. "I want to recreate dance with the experiences I have had both here and in Pakistan," Rahim said.

"When people would tell me that I was a 'Pakistani-American,' I would think they were being rediculous. But I'm starting to realize that they're not far from the truth."

Meanwhile, Hamid also seeks to combine two cultures into his own writing work. "I want to fuse these two cultures and bring them together through my writing," says Hamid. While Hamid's literary training took place in America, his writing largely focuses on Pakistan and his experiences there. Hamid is also working on a collaboration piece with Sikander which involves illustrations and stories by both artists.

"The more time you spend here and the more work you do, the easier it gets to cross borders (Sikander)."
