Alex Zhang
Co-President
College of Arts and Science '13

Alex was born in the bustling city of Manhattan on one winter's eve before she was imported back to China for two memorable years with her beloved grandparents. Once Alex returned to states, she remained in the serene, nurturing suburbs of Connecticut for the duration of her schooling years up until college. She is a junior in CAS, studying Economics and Business Studies. Her interests include rallying it up at tennis courts, eating Congee Village chicken, skiing in amazing, amazing Vancouver, and discussing the fundamental questions of human existence. She loves to befriend new people and try out new things. She is extremely psyched for the all the upcoming events and encourages EVERYONE to come and chill with CMS :)

Amy Zhou
Co-President
Stern School of Business '13

Amy is finally back in NYC after an unforgettable study abroad experience in Shanghai. Besides bringing back valuable knowledge from the East, she also has rediscovered a love for the Chinese culture. Amy hopes to share her love/obsession for color-coding, social media, online shopping, and cooking. Befriend her and your life will get a lot more interesting.

Shirley Qin
Vice President (Fall)
College of Arts and Science '13

Shirley, a Junior in East Asian Studies at CAS, is an entrepreneur with her own small (but growing!) business in the baked goods/related pastries market, Quintessentially Sweet. Her snacks and pastries are very delicious. She is a very sweet, upbeat, and friendly girl, who never fails at bringing out the best in people. Also, she just wants to say that she's a huge fan of Timmy!

Mandy Wu
Vice President (Spring)
Stern School of Business '13

Mandy is a junior in Stern majoring in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Chinese language. She was born in Taipei, grew up in Florida, but currently abroad in Beijing. When in New York, she can frequently be found shopping and enjoying bubble tea all over the city. She's also a huge fan of macarons and desserts in general.

Tim Shi
Senior Advisor
College of Nursing '12

Tim Shi is currently a senior and has been part of CMS since his freshman year. He was Yuan's Tech Director during his Freshman and Sophomore years and was the Tech Advisor last year. He is a Nursing Major, and is also the president of his student council in the College of Nursing. He loves to cook food, and was the student chef for Washington Square News last year. Tim is also actively involved in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. This year he stands as a brother mentor to the brothers in his chapter.

Jinna Wang
Treasurer
Stern School of Business '14

Jinna was born in Harbin, China but grew up on Long Island where she spent many happy years on her high school dance team and women’s choir. Now a sophomore at Stern, Jinna still finds the city to be one amazing place and is often found checking into the nearby restaurants, dessert shops, and boutiques on Foursquare and then tweeting about it. Her ultimate goals for living in the city is to meet James Franco (!) and to get on the Cash Cab. Jinna has an ultimate passion for trivia, and is the go-to-gal if you ever needed to know some completely random fact. How many volumes are circulating at Bobst? 3.3 million. How many ridges on a dime? 118. Jinna also loooooves to meet new people, so if you see her on the street, stop her and say hello! P.S. her birthday is on Flag Day, do you know when that is?

Brenda Hu
Secretary
College of Arts and Science '14

Brenda is a sophomore at CAS and is excited to contribute to Chinese Mei Society this year! She is currently undecided (again) in terms of majors but has many interests such as Chinese culture (e.g. dance), Christmastime, the performing arts, the food network, nutrition, movies, museums, singing, exploring, climbing trees, eating, eating, eating... By the way, if you’re interested in traditional Chinese dance, come dance with Brenda at some open dance studio or anywhere, really. Lastly, she grew up in a quiet suburb in corn-filled Illinois so is thrilled to discover all the wonderful things NYC has to offer!

Shirley Yu
Marketing Director
Stern School of Business '14

Shirley was born in a small suburban town in Pennsylvania where she spent 18 wonderful years with friends and family. However, her love of adventure and cool weather propelled her to the busy streets of New York City. Here, Shirley is a sophomore in Stern hoping to major in Marketing and minor in MCC. In her free time she enjoys visiting different boroughs, going out to eat, dancing, playing tennis, painting scenery, baking extravagant cupcakes, and making new friends. She has dreams of working for a large publishing company, designing wedding dresses for Vera Wang, and traveling all throughout Latin America. Definitely drop by Gramercy Green to share her beautiful view over a cup of iced Celestial tea.

Timmy Chen
Events Director, Webmaster
Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development '13

Timmy is a Junior in Mathematics Education in The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. He is very funny (looking) and sometimes never makes sense. But he is also very amusing and always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need!

Daniel Liu
Events Director
Tisch School of the Arts '12

Daniel is a senior in Tisch studying Film and Television. He comes from the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii and is NOT from Punahou or Iolani. Angela Yih
Events Director
Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development '14

Angela is a sophomore studying Music Technology. She was born in Manhattan but was brought up in Connecticut and now finally back in Manhattan again. Frank Zhu

Frank is a Junior studying film & television in Tisch. He has stinky oily black hair and hopes to live in a cardboard box in Washington Square Park ten years from now. But for now, as Historian, he will devote all of his time to taking beautiful pictures of all the CMS members.

Kai Zheng
Treasurer's Assistant
College of Arts and Science '14

Kai was born in Fuzhou, China. Being from Fuzhou, he devours mass quantities of any form of seafood. Crabs, lobsters, scallops, you name it. If he is not eating seafood, Kai is one of the biggest basketball fans around and because he grew up in New York, he is an even bigger Knicks fan. Kai also loves to play games and is currently a contributing writer of game reviews for the arts section of Washington Square News.

Thomas Li
Sophomore Representative
College of Arts and Science '14

Thomas is currently a sophomore studying Chemistry and Psychology in CAS. He is also on the Pre-medical track and aspires to be a doctor in the near future. He was born in Manhattan, but he spent majority of his life living in the quiet, suburban areas of Brooklyn. As a native New Yorker, he knows a lot of places in the city, including fine eats in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. He is fluent in Cantonese and knows how to speak a little bit of Mandarin. His hobbies include playing basketball, playing handball, playing online multiplayer games, and of course, eating. He loves all types of Asian cuisine, but his favorite food is fried rice. He enjoys hanging out with other people and talking to them about the ups and downs of life. As a new member of the CMS board, he is extremely excited for the upcoming events and hopes to spread the word of CMS to other people!

Victor Ma

College of Arts and Science '15

Victor is currently a freshman at CAS. He was born in New York but has moved to Hong Kong at an early age and then moved back again to New York when he was eight. Therefore, he spends most of his life in the airplane… Victor loves to do different things in his free time such as oil painting, fishing, piano, basketball, and especially bowling since he is nationally ranked as a youth player. He also loves to travel around the world, befriend new people, and gain more experience. But besides all the strenuous activities, he habitually prefers to sit down at a coffee shop and have a nice cup of chocolate. Who doesn’t?

Jason Xiao
Freshman Representative
College of Arts and Science '15

Jason was born in Kunming, China, but spent 13 years of his life in New Zealand. He went to an international school in Auckland, and had just immigrated to the US to study at NYU. Jason loves music, and can play many instruments such as the piano, guitar, bass, and various cooking utensils. Sometimes, he can be found playing a baby grand piano in Washington Square Park. Jason is welcome to any spontaneous jamming sessions with him.

Catherine Ye
Freshman Representative
College of Arts and Science '15

Cathy is a pre-med student hailing from Queens and Long Island--a New Yorker all the way! She enjoys music, sunsets, long walks in beautiful places, photography, chocolate, and writing...but most of all, she enjoys eating delicious food. <3 Cathy has a variety of strange nicknames, such as Cat, Kit-Kat, Kitty, Melissa, Stephanie, Shortie, and Mafia Boss-Lady.

Larry Liu
Freshman Representative
College of Bel-Air '99

Now this is the story about how Larry's life got flipped, turned upside down. And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how Larry became the rep of a club called CMS. In Vancouver, born and raised, on the playground where he spent most of his days. Chilling out, studying, relaxing all cool, and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys, they were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood. He got in one little fight and my mom got scared, and said "You're moving with Amy and Alex in CMS!"

He whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "fresh" and had a lantern in the mirror. If anything he could say that this cab was rare, but he thought "nah, forget it, yo homes to CMS!" He pulled up to U-hall about seven or eight, and yelled to the cabby "Yo homes, smell you later!" Looked at his club he was finally there, to sit on the chair as the rep of CMS.
